The College recognize the financial needs of needy students, and at the same time would like to encourage students to excel in their academic endeavour. To this end, the college offers various types of scholarships and awards. These schemes also constitute an aspect of our corporate social responsibility.
Over the years several millions taka worth of scholarships and awards have been disbursed to deserving students. Many of these scholarship recipients have already graduated and are employed by renowned corporations.
The scholarships are tenable for the duration of their studies in Perdana College, subject to satisfactory semesterly performance. These scholarships are open to all students who apply to the college.
Scholarship aspirant have to fill in a separate Scholarship Application Form obtainable from the Admission Office.
Three types of scholarships are available:
Premier I Scholarship: This scholarship entitles the students to 25% discount of the tuition fees
Premier II Scholarship: This scholarship entitles the students to 50% discount of the tuition fees
Premier III Scholarship: This scholarship entitles the students to full waiver of the tuition fees
Scholarship Criteria
HSC Applicant: a minimum HSC and SSC marks of 750 or GPA of 4.50 each (excluding the additional subject).
GCE "A"Level Applicant: a minimum of 3 principles pass with grade B or above, with at least an A, in a single sitting.
Pre-University Graduates: PUP graduates who meet the following criteria will be automatically considered for scholarships, and are exempted from the scholarship assessment test.
Premier I Scholarship: CGPA 73.0 - 78.9% with minimum Grade B- in all subjects.
Premier II Scholarship: CGPA 79.0 - 86.0% with minimum Grade B in all subjects.
Premier III Scholarship: CGPA > 86% with minimum Grade B+ in all subjects.
In addition, the candidates (excluding the PUP graduates) are required to sit a scholarship assessment test and an interview by the Scholarship Selection Committee.
These awards are given to Year 1/2 students who performed well in any semester, with an aim of encouraging the students to excel in their studies. There is no limit to the number of students who qualify for these awards.
EXCELLENCE AWARD
Students who have completed at least 12 hours of graded credit with a GPA of 3.70 and above, with a minimum grade B for every course and no repetition of any subject, will receive this award worth Taka 10,000 (takas ten thousand only) and a certificate of commendation.
ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Students who have completed at least 12 hours of graded credit with a GPA of 3.40 and above, with a minimum grade B- for every course and no repetition of any subject, will receive this award worth Taka 5,000 (takas five thousand only) and a certificate of commendation.
The Principal with Ashiqur Rahman - Perdana's Premier III Scholarship holder. Ashiqur is currently pursuing his Final Year in BSc (Hons) Computer Science & Mathematics (double majors) in Acadia University.
Fall 2006 semester Academic Awards recipients, Jane and Khaled. Both of them are also Perdana's Premier Scholarship holders.
