Perdana College of Malaysia is proud to announce another first among the education institutions in Bangladesh: Co-Operative Training Program. This Co-Operative (or in short, Co-Op) program requires our students to do two months of internship at the end of each year of their studies, beginning in year one right through to the final year. While usual internship programs only require students to do internship once at the end of their undergraduate studies, Perdana students will have up to three internships integrated into their studies.
The Co-Operative internship at Perdana has been inaugurated to formally integrate classroom learning with workplace training in different organizations. Students will be placed in a company, firm, or organization for relevant and practical industrial training related to their field of study.
Graduate employability is a major concern for the government, universities, and career centers. A study conducted in 2003 by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) has concluded that work experience during courses appears to have a highly positive influence on employability. Perdana's unique Co-Op internship adds to Perdana students' tertiary education and the experiences they gain will help to enhance their employability in the future. This will provide Perdana's students a competitive advantage over other candidates.
The Co-Op internship program will apply to all our academic programs: business information systems, computer science, computer systems & networking, business administration, accounting, finance, mass communication, and psychology. Students will continue to participate in the Co-Op when they move on to our parent university UCSI, Malaysia.
Perdana College has pioneered many aspects of education development in Bangladesh since its inception in 1995. Some of the programs that it has pioneered are: twinning programs, pre-university matriculation, and the first psychology program in the private institutions.
