Juniors versus Seniors T20 Cricket Challenge Trophy
The inaugural Juniors versus Seniors T20 Cricket Challenge Trophy was held in the cricket ground of Jahangirnagar University, Savar on February 5, 2010. A bus-load of students and college staff community attended the day-long event held for the first time to forge good will and competitive sport spirit.
The match was opened by the Principal Dr. Wong, in the presence of Dr. Ronnie (Head of School of Business & Finance, Mr. Coulter (Head of School of Arts & Humanities), Mr. Feroz (faculty member) and Mr. Rana (Office of Student Affairs).
The Juniors, UCSI Youth Hunter, are made to bat first and are a very disciplined lot. They made a total of 135 runs over the 20 overs, which the seniors failed to catch up. The seniors loss by 52 runs.
Migratory Birds in Jahangirnagar University
The participants also used the opportunity to sight the migratory birds (such as heron, egrets, teal, goose, ducks, widgeons) that winter in 22 water bodies of Jahangirnagar University yearly. The photos below provide a glimpse of the amazing sight of the thousands of birds that call their homes here during the winter.
