A team of American students are having their summer abroad program in Perdana College. They are senior students from the Miami Ohio University and Cornell University and will be spending a month with the College. During their one-month stint, they will be involved in various aspects of the College activities including providing help to students in English & mathematics, participating in our Will Group programs, involving in the student clubs, and engaging in extramural activities. This is the second time that Perdana College has hosted such summer program for USA students.
On May 29, the student clubs of the College organized a welcoming reception for these internees. It was presided over by the Ms. Puja. The president of the Sports & Recreation Club delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the Perdana Community, followed by the Principal's address. The students body also presented bouquets to the visitors to initiate them into our community.

In a bid to immerse them into the Bangladeshi culture, the students body organized a local fruit fiesta that includes seasonal fruits such as lychee, jackfruit, watermelon, grape, mango, and jambura, complemented by snacks such as singara and samosa. The team leader of the internees, Mark Smith, led the team by learning to cut open a jackfruit, a fruit that they never see nor taste before. It was an opening experience for them. This was followed by a Bengali film show entitled "Mathi Mayna" (Clay Bird), organized by the Media & Culture Club.
