Once your child is enrolled in the College, you, as parent / guardian, can play a very important and constructive role toward the success of your child's study. Some students are relatively mature and hence little attention is required. For the rest, a bit of hand-holding is essential to ensure that they remain on the right track.
What you can do to HELP
Help to ensure your child come for the classes regularly. You can find the class schedule here. You can also call up our counselors (Tel: 02-9888088) to check his/her attendance, or log in to our EASY online course management system. Regularly absence from classes is detrimental to the student's academic progress.
In the event of sickness, your child should be encouraged to come for the classes unless he/she is seriously ill. Slight headaches, pains, or flu are considered as minor ailments, and such students are expected to attend the classes.
University education can be time-consuming. Encourage your child to spend at least a few hours per day at home to catch up with the study, doing assignments or projects.
Minimize their exposures to TV, video, computer games, or prolonged Internet browsing or chatting. If the child has a lack of self control, it would be best for the parents to step in to redress the situation.
A mid-semester progress report will be sent out to the guardians at the middle of every semester. We urge the guardians to look through it, and, if the situation warrant, to discuss with us on appropriate remedial measures.
Don't load the child with too many social activities. Include him/her only in major family events. In the past, some parents request for 10 days' leave for their child in order to attend a brother, sister, or cousin's wedding, which is unacceptable.
